The Golden City!
Perched on the banks of the Vltava River, the medieval city of Prague has long been a centre of European trade, culture and politics and a beacon for arts and music lovers everywhere.

Its history harks back all the way to the Celts, who first settled the area back in 400 BC and the twists and turns of hundreds of years of tumultuous history are etched into its buildings and monuments.

Hotel Adalbert is in a perfect location, situated close to all of Prague's major landmarks and the best of what the city has to offer:

  • Prague Castle - 4.5 km
  • Old Town Square - 6.5 km
  • Jewish Quarter - 6 km
  • Mala Strana - 6 km
  • Charles Bridge - 6.5 km

Proud Recipients of the EU Ecolabel & Cyclists Welcome Accreditation
A strong belief in green living and responsible travel is the ethos that has helped us achieve our goal of becoming the first hotel in the Czech Republic to be granted the EU ecolabel. We ensure our hotel continues to have a positive impact on the environment by conserving energy and water, reducing waste and thoroughly educating our staff on environmental issues.

Additionally, Hotel Adalbert has recently garnered the Cyclists Welcome accreditation - the first hotel in Prague to do so! This means we can offer cyclists a variety of services, including somewhere to store bikes, get repairs, offer information on cycling routes and prepare nutritious meals suitable for those with a long day's pedalling ahead!

You can find comprehensive information on both of these initiatives at www.ecolabel-tourism.eu and www.cyklistevitani.cz.

Welcome to Eco-Friendly Hotel Adalbert!

Situated in the idyllic grounds of Brevnov Monastery near Prague Castle, this former convent dates back an impressive 350 years to 1668, when it was founded by the Abbot Tomas Sartorius. The hotel is named after Saint Adalbert, who was bishop of Prague in 993 AD and one of the original founders of the monastery.

Newly renovated, the hotel provides an oasis of calm in the heart of the city, with its alluring mix of history, tranquility and modern comforts and conveniences. With 44 beds in 20 rooms, two family suites and one room with wheelchair access, the hotel feels capacious and this liberating sense of space extends to the hotel's environs too, as the building is surrounded by beautiful, well-tended gardens - the perfect environment for a pleasant stroll or to unwind and relax.

The building's history is fascinating. It has had many reincarnations and served numerous functions over the centuries, from monastery hospital to government office and we would be more than happy to take you on a guided tour and explain more about its interesting past.
