Situated in the idyllic grounds of Brevnov Monastery near Prague Castle, this former convent dates back an impressive 350 years to 1668, when it was founded by the Abbot Tomas Sartorius. The hotel is named after Saint Adalbert, who was bishop of Prague in 993 AD and one of the original founders of the monastery.
Newly renovated, the hotel provides an oasis of calm in the heart of the city, with its alluring mix of history, tranquility and modern comforts and conveniences. With 44 beds in 20 rooms, two family suites and one room with wheelchair access, the hotel feels capacious and this liberating sense of space extends to the hotel's environs too, as the building is surrounded by beautiful, well-tended gardens - the perfect environment for a pleasant stroll or to unwind and relax.
The building's history is fascinating. It has had many reincarnations and served numerous functions over the centuries, from monastery hospital to government office and we would be more than happy to take you on a guided tour and explain more about its interesting past.
